CS Health Frequently Asked Questions
Sulforaphane Glucosinolate is an active ingredient in broccoli proven to have anti-oxidant and detoxification benefits, as well as the promotion of cell integrity. Upon ingestion of the Vitalica® capsule, sulforaphane glucosinolate activates the body's phase 2 immune system.
Sulfa drugs and sulforaphane are quite unrelated and there is no cross allergy. In fact, there is no known allergy to sulforaphane.
Studies on sulforaphane have been very promising, but we do not have enough information to fully support any understanding of its effects on humans. Research is ongoing at this time.
No. Scientist and Researchers have tested most broccoli currently available and their work demonstrates that less than 10% have concentrations of sulforaphane glucosinolate.
Research has demonstrated that broccoli sprouts and mature broccoli contain levels of sulforaphane glucosinolate, more so in sprouts. However, sulforaphane glucosinolate levels in BroccoRaphanin™ and Vitalica® are even higher, as the origin of their sulforaphane glucosinolate is from specially selected broccoli seeds, that contain much higher levels of sulforaphane glucosinolate than either mature broccoli or broccoli sprouts.
